John Edward Seedoff

John Edward Seedoff, 88, of Rockford passed away June 27, 2022. Born November 23, 1933 in Rockford, the son of Arnold and Ingrid (Swanson) Seedoff. A veteran of the US Army. Married Marion Joyce Carlson in 1954 in Rockford. A graduate of Augustana College with a degree in education. John started his career in teaching at Buckbee Elementary School, then becoming Assistant Principal at Lincoln Middle and finally went on to Auburn High School where he was Assistant Principal and Principal until his retirement in 1991. He enjoyed singing in the Red Diamond Chorus while station in Germany during his service to our country and continued to enjoy singing in the choir at Christ United Methodist Church. John also loved to travel with his wife, Marion. John will be remembered for his passion for education, teaching and the well being of his students.
Survivors include children, Paul (Mandy Gould) Seedoff, Amy Seedoff; sister, Kathryn Whitehead; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; wife; and brother, David.
Memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday, July 11, 2022 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory – Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park with a visitation from 5:00 PM until time of service.
