John Sheeley Obituary

John Michael Sheeley, 54, of Lakeview, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Thursday, June 12, 2025. He is the son of the late Thomas Sheeley and Sandy (Banta) Little.

Born on May 28, 1971, in Bellefontaine, Ohio, John graduated from Ben Logan High School in 1989. In 1991 he began his career at Honda Transmission Manufacturing in Lakeview, where he then dedicated over three decades to the automotive and parts industry along the way. John's expertise and passion led him to roles in coordination and management, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues. His remarkable ability to tear down and rebuild anything made him a trusted and valued member of his teams.

During his early years, John trained under his brother - Scott Sheeley owner of IT Fight Team, Bellefontaine - that earned him belts in boxing.

In 1994, John became a proud father to his son, Tyler C. Sheeley. He was especially proud when Tyler enlisted in the US Marine Corps after high school and later married his high school sweetheart, Alyssa. John cherished his role as "Papaw John" to his grandchildren: Grant, Lauren, and Myles. In 2005, John welcomed his second son, Crew M. Sheeley, into the world. He was immensely proud of Crew's academic achievements, his love for powerlifting, and his upcoming sophomore year at The Ohio State University.

John's happiest moments were spent with family and friends and watching the Cleveland Browns get a win. He was known for his quick wit, crazy adventures, a master mushroom hunter and enjoyed cooking for others. He enjoyed spending weekends with his longtime Ben Logan classmates. These reunions were a testament to the lifelong friendships John cherished.

John is survived by his mother Sandy (Ken) Little, stepmother Dianna (Tom) Sheeley, siblings Scott (Amy) Sheeley; Alex Sheeley; Andrea (John) Todd-Ciardelli, sons Tyler (Alyssa) Sheeley; Crew Sheeley, and grandchildren Grant, Lauren, and Myles, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him.

Pastors Dana Kidder and Steve Krumm will officiate a funeral service on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at 5:00pm in the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 23, 2025, at 11:00am in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
