John Franklin Shillinglaw, "Johnny", (September 13, 1935) passed away peacefully Thursday, April 25th surrounded by his family.

"Johnny" was a native of Rock Hill, South Carolina spending most of his life in South Florida. A resident of Fort Lauderdale, he truly loved their home in North Carolina.

An electrical contractor, Navy veteran, sailor, corvette enthusiast, and constant worker he is best remembered by his family as loyal, dependable and fun.  His adoring wife Nancy said, "In 35 years of marriage he was always beside me, he never let me down".

He is survived by his wife Nancy Shillinglaw,  his children Lynda Shillinglaw and Bobby Shillinglaw, Carol Kelsey and Alan Robertson who he loved deeply, his grandsons Pierce, Alec and Charlie and granddaughters Katie and Megan, and his sister Ann Svoboda.

After suffering many years with Parkinson’s Disease always with dignity, never once complaining he left a legacy to us as a Christian, a family man, devoted to his wife, children, family and friends. Johnny would always show up, no matter what! We will meet again.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Parkinson's Foundation.
