John Siddall Obituary

John A. "Jack" Siddall, Jr., 90, a lifelong resident of Attleboro, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at the Life Care Center of Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of the late Sandra "Sandy" (Seyboth) Siddall, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2022. Together, they owned and operated Swanton's Furniture in Attleboro for many years.

Jack was born on January 18, 1935, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, the son of the late John A. Siddall, Sr. and Clara A. (Randall) Siddall. He attended Willett Elementary School and graduated from Attleboro High School, Class of 1953, where he sang in the glee club and chorus. He earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Brown University.

After college, Jack worked alongside his father in the family appliance business and proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He later began a long and successful career in banking, starting at First National Bank. He and Sandy purchased Swanton's Furniture in 1973, where he worked full-time before returning to banking at Bristol County Savings Bank in 1994. He took great pride in watching the bank take root and grow in the community he loved. He retired in 2008 as Vice President of Business Development.

Jack was deeply committed to community service and civic involvement. He generously gave his time and leadership to numerous organizations, including the United Way of Greater Attleboro-Taunton, Attleboro Enterprises, the Sturdy Memorial Hospital Foundation, the Attleboro Area Council of Churches, the Attleboro Chamber of Commerce, Slater Mill of Pawtucket, and the Attleboro/North Attleboro Rotary. He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge and honorary life member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. He was the 2003 Chamber of Commerce of the Attleboro Area "Person of the Year."

When not working or volunteering, Jack enjoyed traveling to Cape Cod, Fort Myers, and Amish Country. He also delighted in seeing new sights through chaperoning Bristol County Savings Bank's Prime Time outings. His other pastimes included playing card games, going out to eat, singing in the church choir, and spending time with his dear cat, Willie.

Jack is survived by his daughter, Jill Vigorito and her husband Tim of Attleboro; his granddaughter, Jennifer Turner, her husband Nathaniel, and great-grandsons Aiden and Cameron of Attleboro; his grandson, Brad Vigorito of Boston; his sister-in-law, Judy Agar of Attleboro; his niece, Kristen Carr and her husband Eric, and their children of Needham; his goddaughter, Beth Johnson Flanagan of Plainville; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A celebration of life service, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend, will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the SPERRY-MCHOUL-PICHI FUNERAL HOME, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. Interment will follow at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Rehoboth.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jack's memory to the Dr. Steven Bensson and Dr. Jean-Siddall Bensson Foundation of Sturdy Health at www.sturdyhealth.org/give.

Jack was a friend and high school classmate. We enjoyed singing in the concert choir together. I will always have fond memories of Jack and these bygone days.

My condolences to Jack's family. I worked for Jack as his secretary at First National bank and he was such a fun and kind boss. He also had a beautiful voice and sang at my wedding and my husband's funeral. He will be missed by anyone that knew him.
