John Robert Siegler

John Robert Siegler, 81, of Lapeer, passed away on November 9, 2024, in the comforts of his home and with his family by his side. He was born in Rochester, MI on June 16, 1943, to John Emil and Jean Barbara Siegler. He was the oldest of eight children. John grew up in Imlay City and lived and worked on the family farm. After high school he joined the Marine Corps and loyally served his country for four years. He served in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart. After the military John went into the car business and was owner of Siegler Sales in Marlette. After that he went on to own and operate Thomas Ford in Lapeer for 25 years. He retired in 2001 and spent his winters in Marco Island, Florida. John had a passion for boating, hunting and cars and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
John is survived by his wife Dawn Louise Siegler; children Steve (Wendy) Siegler, Laurey Bryant, Brett Stone, Renee (Brian) Godfrey; grandchildren Sydney, Madison, Patrick, Kate, Caroline, and Collin; brothers Jim, Jeff, Joel, and Jason Siegler; sisters Janet Muse and Judene Lamphere. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Jean Siegler; sister Joanne Lazar; sister-in-law Mary Ann Siegler.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 11:00 am at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel. Pastor Drew Jolly will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. John's cremated remains will be interred at Mt. Hope Cemetery following the service with military honors being performed by the auspices of American Legion Post #16 honor guard. A luncheon will follow at the Elks Club in Lapeer. Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or any veteran's charity of choice.
