John Raymond Sloan, 68 years old of The Glen, North Fayette Twp. died Tuesday, August 28, 2018 in UPMC- Mercy.
He was born October 31, 1949 in Pittsburgh, son of the late John Jacob and June Rose Phillips Sloan.
John served as a Sergeant in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He was a member of St. Columbkill RC Church, Imperial, VFW-Lawrence, Eagles-Andover, OH, SNPJ- Imperial. He was a founder of the Kirwin Heights Junior Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing, camp, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a Computer System Analyst, and manager for Duquesne Light Company.
Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Reed Sloan of The Glen, North Fayette Twp., Children, Tracy (Craig) Whipkey of Hankey Farms, John William (Kodi) Sloan of Bridgeville, and Pamela Sloan of North Fayette, Grandchildren, Sloan, Tressa Lynne, and Reed Whipkey, Sister, Deborah Sloan of McDonald, and a Brother, Gary Michael Sloan of Bridgeville.
He was preceded in death by sister, Marsha Lynn Sloan.
Private Services were held and burial was in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
