John Robert Smith Jr. was born on April 2nd, 1962 to the late John Robert Smith Sr. and Sarah Watford-Smith in Brooklyn, NY. John, lovingly known as "Bob" attended Howard University. And received his Associate of Science Degree from the Borough of Manhattan Community College.
Bob went on to be employed by several banking institutes in the NYC area. In 2011, Bob relocated to Erwin, North Carolina with his parents and his brother, Rodney. As a resident of North Carolina, Bob was employed as a home health aide where he developed skills that would aid him to care for his parents and godmother, Patricia Cameron until their passing.
Bob was known for his quick wit, interior design skills and his persistence to get the job done. For all those that knew him, Bob would always extend himself when asked and needed.
Bob departed this life on October 5th, 2025 at Clove Lakes Rehabilitation facility in Staten Island, NY. Bob leaves to cherish his memories, his brother, Rodney; his sister, Sharon, and his true loves; nephew, Timothy Rodney; his niece, Sideah Matilda; and his goddaughter Avery Frances, and a host of relatives and lifelong friends
