John William Snook Sr. passed peacefully on July 3, 2025, at the Fairhope Pickering House in Lancaster, Ohio. He was born on November 14, 1946, in Columbus, Ohio. He was the Son of John Arthur and Rose Purcell Snook of McArthur, Ohio.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Diane Gurile Snook, and 6 daughters and 1 son: Tracy Parker (Bill), Carol Murphy (Brian), Joanne White, Michelle Smith, Cindy Romine (Mel), John Snook Jr. (Ashley), and Dawn Snook. One sister, Dolores Martinez of Oklahoma City, OK. 19 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 2 nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, Everett and Zoe Gurile, and a very special grandson, Aaron Parker.
He was a Butcher and meat Manager for over 40 years. He served as a town council member for the village of Pleasantville for many years. He served as a pastor and youth leader at Lighthouse Memorial Church, which he helped to co-establish with a very special friend, Pastor Bill Beard. During his life, he had a passion for his God, his family, muscle cars, any good western movie, and was a lover of dogs, especially his 4 legged friend Hope.
Per his wishes, John will be cremated. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, September 7, 2025 from 12:30 PM – 3 PM at Lighthouse Memorial Church, 2600 Walnut Road, Rt. 79, Millersport, Ohio.
