John Robert Snyder, Sr. April 18, 1946 ~ October 10, 2025
John Robert Snyder, Sr.,79, Noblesville, passed away at 6:45 pm on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis. He was born in Union City, Indiana, on Thursday, April 18, 1946, to John and Helen (Roberson) Snyder. On October 3, 1970, he married Sandra Shore, who survives.
John was a graduate of Winchester High School and went on to attend Ivy Tech. A deeply patriotic American, he served honorably in the United States Army, embodying a lifelong commitment to service and country. After his military years, John found fulfillment in his work as a real estate agent, where he built lasting relationships and helped others find their place to call home. John had a deep appreciation for the outdoors-landscaping, fishing, and target shooting were among his favorite pastimes. He also found joy and freedom on the open road, often riding his motorcycle with a sense of adventure and peace. A devoted animal lover, John rescued many animals throughout his life. His compassion led him to spend two years working alongside a veterinarian, where he found great purpose in caring for creatures great and small. His gentle nature and generous spirit touched both people and animals alike.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Snyder; son, John Robert (Vanna) Snyder, Jr. of Westfield; grandson, Rylan Snyder; and aunt, Carol Pananos of Noblesville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Earl and Helen Snyder.
A graveside service to celebrate John's life will begin at 11:00 am at Marion National Cemetery 1700 E. 38th St., Marion, IN.
Memorial contributions may be made to either Tunnel to Towers Foundation 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306 or Wounded Warrior Project P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516.
