John Soucy Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Boston Cremation - Malden Care Center on Feb. 2, 2026.
John Andrew Soucy, a devoted patriot who loved God and his family deeply, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, of natural causes.

Affectionately known as "Tiny" during his high school years, John was a member of the Salem High School Class of 1959. He was the life of the party, played football, ran track, and left a lasting impression on classmates and friends.

Although John rarely spoke about his three tours in Vietnam, he was immensely proud of his 21 years of service in the United States Army, from which he retired as a Sargent First Class.

A resilient man, John overcame many health challenges throughout his life. His grandchildren playfully nicknamed him "the Terminator," because no matter what he faced, he always came back, while his youngest daughter lovingly called him the Energizer Bunny.

John found joy in life's simple pleasures-baking Christmas goodies, cheering on his beloved New England Patriots, and spending quiet moments with his loyal dog, Maddie. He was especially famous for his homemade fudge, generously giving away pounds of it in a variety of flavors to family and friends. Few people knew that John also enjoyed making macramé plant hangers and woodworking, quiet and creative pastimes that reflected his thoughtful nature.

John's faith was a steady presence throughout his life, guiding him through both joy and hardship. His life of service, perseverance, and quiet devotion reflected a man who lived with purpose. He now rests in God's eternal care, reunited with those who went before him. "Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord" (Matthew 25:23).

John is survived by his five daughters, Karen Soucy, Michelle Soucy, Tina Kahraman, Carol Naples (spouse Alexander Naples), and Jennifer Miller (spouse Jimmy Miller); his seven grandchildren, Brandon (spouse Mariza), Dennis, Alex, Yannick, Corina, Cheyenne, and Laetitia; and his four great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Janelle, Jasiah, and Ace. His strength, generosity, and quiet love will always be remembered.
