John Dewayne Stamey, 59 of McIntosh, passed away peacefully at his home, May 17, 2025. He was the son of the late Wayne and Frances Stamey. He is preceded in death by his brother, Shane Stamey.
An avid family man, just like his father, Mr. Stamey devoted his entire life taking care of his family, friends, and anyone who was lucky enough to know him. He loved his family hard and was well-known for his kindness and coolness throughout his life.
Mr. Stamey was the owner of Southern Custom Painting & Design where he created magic throughout several surrounding counties. He was an artist and shared his artwork with those he loved. Mr. Stamey loved to ride his motorcycle, spending time with his wife, kids, grandkids and loved a good cup of black coffee and a stiff crown and 7. He was the president of the God N Guns Motorcycle club.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jeannie Stamey; his son, Marcus Stamey, and daughters, Tabitha Stamey, Amber Waters (Russell Waters), and Kayla Underwood; two sisters, Brenda Stamey (Jamie Griffin), and Tonya Miles (Grady Miles); one grandson, Branson Underwood, and two granddaughters, Harley Jo Waters and Ellie Mae Waters; and several nephews.
He was the best husband, daddy, brother, pappy, uncle, and friend.
