John P. Starinsky Sr., 92 passed away September 27, 2025, at Valley Hospice, Steubenville, OH.

He was born September 2, 1933, in Penowa, PA to the late John Starinsky and Jennie Chanze Starinsky Gabrielli.

John was a retired electrician from Weirton Steel Corp. with 47 years of service, was a very active member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Steubenville, OH, where he held several positions, a member of Weirton Steel 25-year Club, and a former member of Appalachian Folk Music Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Michael Starinsky, and his fur companion Muffin Shey.

He is survived by his wife Brenda Kay Williamson Starinsky who he married August 28, 1981, five sons John Starinksy Jr. (Charlene) of Jewett, OH, Luke Starinsky (Evelyn) of Loganville, GA, Matthew Starinsky (Vicki) of Columbus, OH, Mark Starinsky (Cassandra) of New Albany, OH, William Logan (Tonya) of Follansbee, WV, his daughter Mary Ohlin (James) of Powell, OH, a brother Joseph Gabrielli (Cynthia) of Steubenville, OH, two sisters Helen Estep of Mingo Junction, OH and Mary Perovich, Douglasville, PA, his special friend Clarence Reitter and his fur companion Buddy, fourteen grandchildren, six step grandchildren, two great grandchildren and nine step great grandchildren also survive.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 6-8 p.m. at Reasner Funeral Home 1515 Charles St. Wellsburg, WV.

Funeral Service Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Scott A. Kuntz officiating.

Interment will follow at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, WV.
