Born in San Angelo, John is predeceased by his father, William Albert Stewart, mother Ethel Agnes Stewart, sisters Louise Stewart and Cathy Stewart, and son William Dwane Stewart. John is survived by 5 generations of family: Wife Linda Darlene Stewart, sister Evelyn Stewart, brothers Alford Stewart and Joe Stewart, sons Johnny Lee Stewart and Justin Webb, 5 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.
John loves San Angelo and made his home and life here. Imagine the stories he can tell as he experienced all the world changes over the decades. He grew up during the Great Depression and left school early to help support his family. John worked first for his dad pouring concrete and eventually began his 30-year career as a home builder. John built many homes in San Angelo and West Texas along with several churches and business facilities in and around the area. John was a member of the Home Builders of America in San Angelo and served as President in the late 70's.
John loved traveling and visited many beautiful areas of the United States and Europe. He loved the outdoors and spent countless hours fishing and hunting – he has many trophies on his walls with entertaining stories for each – most of them truthful!
John truly treasured his many friends made over the years and we know he is visiting with them and family in heaven and will be waiting for us. He is loved and will be dearly missed.
The Graveside service will be 1:00 P.M., Monday, November 13, 2023 at Belvedere Memorial Park.
