John Andrew Stoicu Jr.

John Andrew Stoicu Jr., age 82, of China Township, passed away peacefully at home on November 2, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on October 25, 1943, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, he was the cherished son of the late John Andrew and Freda (Pinnell) Stoicu.
John's professional life was marked by his meticulous craftsmanship as a tool and die engineer, where he specialized in creating prototype molds and gears. Beyond work, John loved riding his motorcycles, traveling all over the country, and being apart of the Harley Owners Group at Wolverine Harley in Mt. Clemens. He loved his plants, especially orchids.
He is survived by his devoted children, Heather Stoicu and Andrew Stoicu of China Township; siblings, Martha (Steve) Conaway and Mary Myers; special friend, Michelle; as well as many nieces and nephews.
John was a man who never met a stranger, becoming a friend to everyone he encountered. His ability to engage in good-natured bullshitting and debating kept him entertained. He could build or fix anything he set his mind to. His love for a good adventure was matched only by his love for his family, and he was happiest when combining the two, whether it was at a concert or a simple family gathering.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Sondra Grasham; his niece, Brenda; and son-in-law, Jeff Horton.
A gathering and viewing will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Grace Memorial-Bower Rose Funeral Home, 222 N. Main Street, Marine City, MI 48039. Funeral services and military honors will begin at 6:00 p.m. Reverend Dr. G. Patrick Thompson will officiate.
