John E. Stollberg

John E. Stollberg, 73 of Green Bay, passed away Monday, August 26, 2024, at Woodside Nursing Home with his family at his side. He was born on October 26, 1950, to Eugene and Leona (Devroy) Stollberg. John graduated from Bay Port High School in 1969. On August 29, 1970, he married Kathleen Goddard. They celebrated 50 years of marriage before she passed away on June 15, 2021. John joined the Navy after graduation and served aboard the aircraft carrier, the U.S.S. Forrestal. He was honorably discharged in 1974. He worked as a machinist at Green Bay Tool & Die, the company his father started in 1954. John took over the business when his father retired. He sold the business in 2017 when he retired. John enjoyed boating, doing craft shows, bus trips with family, and soup from the Golden Basket. He always looked forward to card games with family and with his fellow Bay Port classmates. John was a big Packer fan and attended many games. His prediction for the team this year is 13-4 and a trip to the Super Bowl.
Survivors include sisters, Carol (Jim) Clark, Green Bay and Marie Wickman, Sault Ste. Marie, MI; nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He is further survived by a special cousin, Jeff Devroy, who we consider to be our little brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Leona Stollberg; his father and mother-in-law, George and Marguerite Goddard; and sister and brother-in-law, Ann (Delbert) Miller.
A special thank you to the nurses, doctors and entire staff at Bellin Memorial Hospital for the great care he was given through the years. Also a big thank you to his many doctors at the VA and also the staff at Aurora Pulmonary Rehab. He will be missed by so many people.
Per John's wishes, there was a private family burial with Military Honors held at Nicolet Memorial Park.
