John Donald Sturtz Jr, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025, at the age of 68.
Don was a devoted family man, survived by his loving wife, Sue Sturtz; his daughters, Shannon Sturtz and Amanda Fabian; and his cherished granddaughters, Lily Raymundo and Layla Fabian. He is also survived by his brother, Dave Sturtz. He was preceded in death by his son, Ryan Sturtz, mother and father Patricia and John Donald Sturtz Sr.
Don spent the majority of his career in the magazine industry, beginning as an Audit Manager at Curtis Circulation, where he worked for 15 years. His talents and work ethic led him to California for a position at RDA Assistance. Eventually, he followed his entrepreneurial spirit and opened his own rack manufacturing business. Don earned the respect of his colleagues for his deep industry knowledge and unwavering honesty.
A passionate sports enthusiast, Don's heart belonged to baseball-especially his beloved Baltimore Orioles. Whether it was football, hockey, or baseball, he followed the games with intensity and joy. His love for sports was only matched by his love for his family, especially his granddaughters, Lily and Layla, who brought him endless pride and happiness.
Don's legacy is one of integrity, passion, and love for those closest to him. He will be remembered fondly and deeply missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause close to Don's heart and one supported by the family.
