Publish in a newspaper

John M. Sullivan, of Canton, passed away at the age of 78 on November 4, 2025, at Boston Medical Center. Born on February 8, 1947, in Dorchester, MA, John's life was one of dedication, love, and service, leaving a legacy that will be fondly remembered and celebrated by his family and friends.
John was the beloved husband of Susan A. Sullivan (Trahan), with whom he shared a beautiful and enduring partnership. He was a devoted father to David M. Sullivan of Tilton, NH, and Cynthia G. Arcand, and her husband Christian of Dedham. His role as a grandfather to George Arcand was one of his most treasured, as he imparted wisdom, laughter, and countless memories that will be cherished forever. He is also survived by his brothers, Paul Sullivan of Southborough, Robert Sullivan of Sandwich, and was preceded in death by his brothers Joseph and Timothy Sullivan.
Born and raised in Dorchester, John graduated from Dorchester High School, where he played hockey, embraced education and formed lifelong friendships. After graduation, he served in the United States Navy and the National Guard and later he made his home in Canton, where he would live for 45 years, becoming a respected and well-known member of the community.
Professionally, John dedicated many years to Stratus Computer Company in Marlboro, where he excelled in Sales Support. His colleagues knew him as a man of integrity, wit, and a steadfast work ethic, who could always be counted on for support and guidance.
John's passion for music was evident through his active participation in the Boston Crusaders Drum Corp, as well as the Army National Guard Drum Corp, an endeavor that brought him immense pride and joy. His musical talents and camaraderie within the Corp resonated not just within the group, but also in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of witnessing their performances.
A man of many interests, John was a former member of the Canton Town Club and was a familiar face at Big D's in Canton, where his presence was a source of warmth and friendship.
John lived a life marked by love, commitment, and community involvement. His departure leaves a void in the lives of those who knew him, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we take solace in the countless memories and the indelible impact he made on so many. John's story is not one of an ending but a lasting legacy of a life well-lived and a man well-loved.
Relatives and friends invited to attend a Funeral service at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton, Friday Nov 14th at 11:00 am. Visiting hour prior to the service, Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Burial will follow the service in Milton Cemetery.
