Thomas F. "Tom" Brown, 84, of Shrewsbury and formerly of Dorchester, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus, with his loving family by his side.
He leaves his cherished wife of 62 years, Nancy E. (Sample) Brown; his devoted daughters, Sheilah M. Moutoudis and her husband Dimitrios, of Shrewsbury, Michelle M. Tames and her partner Monalisa Murray, of Burrillville, RI, and Nancy E. Rohlfing and her husband Derek, of Shrewsbury; his beloved grandchildren, Noni and John Moutoudis and his Fiancée Mary Coraccio, Ryan, Donovan and his wife Gabby, Connor Tames and their father Ramon Tames, Katelyn Sundeen and her husband Kurtis, Allison and Thomas Rohlfing; his siblings, Marie "Rere" Analoro, wife of the late Richard Analoro, of Brockton, and James P. Brown and his wife Madeline, of Norwood; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Tom was predeceased by his sisters, Joyce Murphy and Patricia Mackin.
Tom was born in Boston, then raised, and educated in the Fields Corner section of Dorchester, he was the son of the late Patrick F. and Marie T. (Hampston) Brown. He graduated from Dorchester High School, prior to entering his lengthy career as an Iron Worker. Tom was a proud member of Iron Workers Local #7 Union in Boston and served as Past President.
On June 1, 1963, at Saint Ann's Church in Dorchester, Tom married the girl of his dreams, Nancy E. Sample, together they raised their three daughters in Brockton where they made their home for over 35 years before moving to Shrewsbury several years ago.
Tom, in his free time, enjoyed golfing, fishing, and rooting for all New England sports, but especially the Patriots. He loved cooking for his family – his signature dish, chicken marsala, was enjoyed at many family dinners.
Tom had many accomplishments but one that he was very proud to admit was being sober for 43 years and being a member of Alcoholic Anonymous and loved helping many people.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart Failure Patient Foundation.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Brown family between 12 – 3 PM on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury, with a prayer service to follow at 3 PM. Burial will be held privately.

Tom was my best friend and Sponsor. Whenever I called Tom he greeted me with Hi Mike, our 15 year relationship was special. Tom would say call me anytime night or day. I can here Tom say from the podium "THIS WORKS IF YOU WORK IT SO WORK IT CAUSE YOUR WORTH IT". Tom helped so many people through the years and he will be remembered for his kind and gentle demeanor. To Nancy and her family you will remain in my prayers. God chose to take Tom HOME to relieve his suffering.
