John, age 77, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. He was a native and current resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. John proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army as an Auto Mechanic. He later went on to work as an Electrician and retired from the IBEW Local 995 Union. To know John was to know kindness. He was the type of man who would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought and somehow make you laugh while doing it. A proud supporter of LSU, John rarely missed a game, cheering passionately from his favorite spot in front of the TV. In his younger years, he found the same excitement at the bowling alley. John had a deep appreciation for humor. Funny movies were his go-to escape, and he loved sharing his favorites with anyone willing to watch. He had a gift for storytelling, turning everyday moments into tales that brought laughter to everyone who heard them. Above all, John was a true family man that always put his family first. John Floyd Taylor leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and love. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to live on in the stories he told, the smiles he created, and the countless lives he touched.

John is survived by his loving wife of 54 wonderful years, Bernice Gabor Taylor; daughter, Daysha Taylor; sons, Kenneth Taylor (Christy) and Robert Taylor (Sarah Deshautel); sister, Jacque Smith; brothers, Ronald Dudley (Myrtis) and Tommy Dudley (Ann); and grandchildren, Russell Taylor and Kaylyn Taylor.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Doris Taylor; sister, Sandra Brue; and brother, Kenneth Taylor.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home 7738 Florida Blvd. Denham Springs, LA 70726, on Friday, November 28, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the Memorial Service at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Louisiana National Cemetery.
