John Kenneth Terry went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 9th, 2025 at the age of 88. He passed away peacefully at his home in Weatherford, Texas surrounded by his loving family.

Memorial Service:  There will be a Celebration of John’s life service held on Monday December 29th, 2025 at 10 a.m. at South Main Church of Christ in Weatherford, Texas.

John was born on October 22nd,1937 to John Marcus Terry and Mary Stacey Terry in Hazard, Kentucky. He was 1 of 4 siblings. He was born and raised in Kentucky and then was drafted into the Army at age 18.

While in the Army, on a short leave, he met Linda Terry and fell in love. John and Linda were married shortly after and stayed married for 68 years until his passing.

After the Army John worked hard paying his own way through college, earning both a Bachelor's in Business Degree from Berea College and a Master's Degree (MBA) in Finance from California State College.

John raised his family in California and Texas.

John’s job occupation was mainly in Senior level management as a Pricing Manager and as a Contract Negotiator in the defense industry. Throughout his career he worked for companies such as Rockwell International, LTV, and Bell Helicopter Textron.

John loved the Lord and was always very strong in his faith. He was a great leader and example to others as a Christian man and a devout member of the Church of Christ. He was also a patriot and devoted himself to bettering this Country as a Republican supporter. He enjoyed being outdoors and loved hunting, fishing, snow skiing, and in his later years throwing horseshoes competitively.

John is preceded in death by his three siblings; his eldest son, John Kenneth Terry Jr.; and his great-granddaughter, Lyanna Fernandez.

John is survived by his wife Linda; son, Scott and his wife, Shelley; and daughter, Kristen and her husband, Dale; twelve grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
