John Theres Obituary
He was born on October 13, 1949 in Evergreen Park, IL to Nick and Millie (nee Mucker) Theres. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War Era. John worked during his lifetime as a mechanic and as a truck driver. He enjoyed playing poker, watching game shows, judge shows and westerns and dining out.
He is survived by his four children, Nichole Koerner, Darlene (Sam) Chiavola, Tom (Cheryl) Theres and John Theres; his ten grandchildren, Roni, Maranda, Sara, Brandon, Chloe, Amanda, Nadya, Nick, Caleb and Kassandra; his five great-grandchildren, Bennett, Laith, Yara, Calvin and Joelle; his sister, Joan (the late Les) Vandergriend; and his brothers, Nick (Gerie) Theres and Joe Theres.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Millie Theres.
Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the time of the Funeral Service at 10:30 am on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at the Ferrari Funeral Chapel, 1044 Ferrari Drive, Coal City, IL 60416. Deacon William Dunn will officiate. Burial with full Military Honors will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at 12:00 noon. Those wishing to attend at the cemetery should arrive 15 minutes early.
