John Milton Thomas

John Milton Thomas, 80, of Greers Ferry, Arkansas, formerly of Dyersburg, died Thursday, December 11, 2025, at his residence. Born October 14, 1945, he was preceded in death by his parents, Quitman and Elois Thomas. He retired as Supervisor in Industrial Maintenance. John and his wife, Annette, were former Reserve Deputies for the Dyer County Sheriff's Department in the late 90's serving under Former Sheriff Jeff Holt. He is an Army Veteran and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2025, in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Brother Billy Criswell with interment to follow in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 16th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife, Annette Thomas; his daughter, Courtney Thomas of Dyer; three sons, Matthew Stacks of Yorkville, Jeff Thomas of West Frankfort, IL, Wayne Thomas of Ohio; his sister, Edith Dees of Myrtle, MS; sixteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren' and six great-great grandchildren.
Hugh Thomas, Matthew Stacks, Cobb Thomas, Wendall Davis, Mike Norman, Jason Norman, Kemper Merritt and Layfe Freeman will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Jason Thomas in uniform.
He was preceded in death by his two children, who died as infants, Theresa Thomas and Harold Thomas; two sisters, Peggy Joyce Mathis, Ima Jean Thomas; and five brothers, H.R. Thomas, Bill Thomas, Carol Thomas, Travis Thomas and Lee Thomas.
