John Edmund Tillack

John Edmund Tillack of Lorain, Ohio, more fondly referred to as "Jack", passed away Sunday, July 13, 2025 at The Meadows of Osborn Park in Huron, Ohio.
He was born October 19, 1932 in Elyria, Ohio to the late William and Mary (Swetz) Tillack.
John was a graduate of Elyria High School where he was an active participant in track and baseball. He went on to further his education at Baldwin Wallace College and Kent State University where he ultimately obtained his Master's Degree in Education. He proudly served in The United States Army, stationed in Japan. Upon returning from his service in 1957 he married Eleanor Todoroff. Together, they established a home in Lorain, Ohio while he taught and later became a guidance counselor at Admiral King High School, helping students for 26 years, before retiring in 1988. He was a member of St. Peter Parish in Lorain. He enjoyed camping with family, golf, following sports, and playing guitar. After retirement, he traveled with Eleanor, wintering in Florida. In later years, together, they enjoyed bus trips, senior dances, and tending to their home and yard.
He is survived by his children, Mark Tillack of Brinkhaven, and Karen Tillack of Sandusky; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Including his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Eleanor Tillack and his sister, Jean (Don) Shagie.
At his request, cremation will take place. At this time, no services are planned. Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, Sandusky, Ohio is assisting the family with arrangements.
