Our devoted father, John M. Turro, age 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 22, 2024, at home.
Survived by his children, Jeffrey (Karin) Turro, David Turro, and Brian (Christine) Turro; granddaughter, Hannah Turro; sister, Renee Mazur. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn E. Turro (April 10, 2024), parents, Francis, and Alice Turro; brother, Thomas (Carol) Turro; brother-in-law, Matthew Mazur.
In John's early years he loved to fly, he was a pilot and had his own plane. He enjoyed building and flying model airplanes. Our dad gave us wings and taught us how to fly. He was an outdoor enthusiast, enjoyed camping, fishing, waterskiing, guns, archery and even had a resort in Canada, which he'd fly to, in his plane. Dad was a skilled craftsman and artist, made beautiful stained glass, wood carvings, and dabbled in photography. He also liked to watch John Wayne movies, play cards, collect unique card decks and coins. After retirement John and Evelyn moved to Northern Wisconsin. They were blessed to spend their golden years together enjoying nature among the trees on Kentuck Lake.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate the life of John and Evelyn at a later date.
