John Addison Venable

Mr. John Addison Venable, 91, of Columbus, GA passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025 at The Oaks at Grove Park in Columbus, GA. A graveside service will be held 12:00 noon EST Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Lakeview Memory Gardens in Phenix City, AL, according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home. Mr. Venable was born on August 20, 1934, in Jacksonville, AL, son of the late William Addison Venable and Nannie Elizabeth Reynolds Venable. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Mr. Venable spent most of his career in the Mortgage Investment Banking industry. Although he worked for several banks, he retired from Regions Bank. His passions were fishing and spending time with his family. Other than his parents, Mr. Venable was preceded in death by his wife, Caroline Sue Venable. He is survived by his daughters, Valarie Sue Barnes and husband Michael, Kerry Beth Overton and husband Stephen and Dana Ruth Hall and husband Randy; grandchildren, Ian Overton, Robert Hall, Katharine Barnes and Bryn Overton; great-grandchildren, Carleigh Hall, Caleb Hall and Claire Hall, as well as, extended family and friends.
