John Warren Vines
March 6, 1967 – January 4, 2023
Beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend
John Warren Vines was born March 6, 1967 to Philip Nolan Vines, Jr. and Vada Holveck Vines Jones in Dallas, Texas, He received his crown of glory on January 4, 2023 at the age of 55. John was married to his high school sweetheart and best friend, Jolyn Kistner Vines, for 32 years and they recently resided in Prosper, Texas. John and Jolyn have two sons, Jace Addison Vines and wife, Emily Shelton Vines, and Jackson Hiatt Vines. John had also recently experienced one of life's greatest joys of becoming "Papa" to grandson, Ridley Addison Vines.
John grew up in Cedar Hill, Texas and graduated from Cedar Hill High School in 1985. He went on to attend Texas A&M University where he obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting in 1990 and immediately acquired his CPA certification after graduating. He was an avid Aggies sports fan and a lifelong Dallas Cowboys, Mavericks, and Texas Rangers enthusiast. He was currently employed with FieldhouseUSA in Frisco, Texas as the CFO for the past 16 years where he considered his coworkers to be an extension of his family. John was fiercely loyal, passionate, and devoted – to his friends, his family, and most importantly his faith.
John was a steadfast believer in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ from the young age of 9 years old. He centered his life on loving his family and friends fiercely and left no regrets or doubts for those he held dear. John recognized that his life was temporary and fleeting, so he committed his life's work to advancing the gospel and building the kingdom of God on earth while storing up his treasures in heaven. [Matt. 6:19-20]
John was predeceased by his father, Philip, in 1991. Besides his wife and immediate family, John is survived by his mother, Vada; sister, Phyllis Mahan and husband, Thomas; brother, Philip 'Nolan' Vines III and wife Kerri; nephew, Jim Gatlin and wife, Shannon; and niece, Holly Roberson and husband, Doug; along with many other family members, cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends.
