John J. Vingle of Reynoldsburg, Ohio born January 13, 1938, in Columbus, Ohio, was called to his eternal home on Sunday, February 25, 2024.
He is predeceased by his parents Dorothy Rieser Vingle and Stanley H. Vingle, sisters Rosemarie, Rita & Joan and brother James.
He is survived by his beloved wife Shirley, son John M., daughters Lisa (Doug) Stone, Joann (Ben) Richards, step-children Jim (Michele) Slonaker & Sheryl (Gary) Knapp, many grandchildren, step-grandchildren and great grandchildren, sister Mary Hunter, brother Stanley (Carol) Vingle & many nieces and nephews.
John graduated from St. Mary's High School, class of 1955, served 5 years in the Ohio Air National Guard, 14 years as a local barber, 25 years as an agent with Prudential Life Insurance Company, served the City of Reynoldsburg as a city councilman for 13 years, and the CIty Auditor for 5 years.
His faith in the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ filled his life and led him to serve on many mission trips.
He was a member of St. Pius the X Catholic Parish and attended and sang in the choirs at the Reynoldsburg Community Church. The family will receive friends at Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 E. Main Street, Reynoldsburg on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. John's funeral will be held on Friday March 1, 2024 at Reynoldsburg Community Church, 1636 Graham Road, Reynoldsburg, with visiting from 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. His service will begin at 11:00 A.M. His burial will be at Glen Rest Memorial Estate, 8029 E. Main Street, Reynoldsburg.
