John (Giovanni) Vozzella, 81 of West Roxbury, sadly left us on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Originally from Torre Le Nocelle, Italy, son of the late Lorenzo Vozzella and Flora DeMinico.
Loving and devoted husband of 58 years to Rosa (Petitto) Vozzella (formerly of Venticano, Italy). Devoted father to his daughter, Flora Erica Vozzella of West Roxbury and son, Lawrence Vozzella and his wife Ann Marie and grandfather of Christopher John Vozzella all of Medway. Brother of the late Ciriaco Theodore Vozzella and his wife Dr. Luisa Della Porta, and uncle of Flora R. Vozzella and Lorenzo Vozzella all of Torre Le Nocelle, Italy. Also survived by many of his loving cousins: the Barrett Family, the Bertino Family, the Larkin Family, the Robicheau Family, the Scala Family, and the Vozzella Family.
John will be deeply missed by his family and all those who had the privilege to love and know him.

I remember, and this may seem a little weird him, waxing the floors of the house and telling Flora and I very sternly not to step on his newly waxed floors lol

Giovanni was my "buddy" from the first day I entered the family. He immediately took me under his wing and was always a great and jolly friend. Always smiling, always having a great time, and always a pleasure to be with. In over 40 years, his friendship never waned. He was always there for you, no matter what the reason. I remember one time he insisted on taking me to the airport, and with about 30 minutes before boarding he insisted on getting me a cup of cappuccino in the North End. Made for an exciting ride, but that was Giovanni for you. Probably one of the biggest highlights of my life was spending three weeks in Italy with him. It was something I will never forget. He was an awesome traveling companion.
He was extremely proud of his family and in seventh heaven when Christopher arrived.
We will all miss him terribly.
