John Stuart Wagley Jr., 38, of Walnut Ridge, passed away on October 23, 2025, at his home. John was born in Wynne on November 23, 1986, to John Wagley Sr. and the late Crenn Jones. In addition to his mother, John was preceded in death by his stepfather, Edward Allen Jones; sister, Angela Wagley; and uncle, Bruce Scott.
John was born and raised in Northeast Arkansas, where he spent most of his life. In his early twenties, he made the courageous decision to join the United States Army. Being in the army allowed John to travel all over the world. He was stationed in various locations and was deployed to Afghanistan. Later, John left the military and, in 2020, moved back to NEA. He enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. If he wasn't outside, you could always find John at the local VFW playing pool or hanging out with friends and family playing cards and board games. Most importantly, John loved being with friends and family.
John is survived by his children, Mathias Phipps and Parker Wagley; sister, Monica Scott; niece, Madison Scott; grandparents, Katherine and Robert Bolden; and the mother of his children, Sarah Wagley.
A celebration of life will be held on November 15, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Rice Festival Building in Weiner, AR. The burial will be private.
