John Wakula, 85, beloved husband, loving father, cherished grandfather and brother, passed away on Sunday June 30, 2024.
John was born on Friday, January 13, 1939 in Jersey City, New Jersey, where he was raised by his cherished Grandparents. After graduating from Ferris High School, John enlisted in the Army.
John would meet the love of his life, Carolyn Jenkins, in the early 80s. The couple wed in 1983 and moved to Morganville, NJ to raise their family.
In his spare time, John loved tending to his garden, particularly his beloved tomato plants. He also enjoyed spending time going crabbing. Above all, John loved being surrounded by his family, especially his two great granddaughters whom he cherished dearly. John will be greatly missed by all those blessed to have known him.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Carolyn, by his loving daughter Dawn, by his caring step children Christine Ziola and her husband Brian, and Steven Ziola, by his adoring granddaughter Brianna Hoffman, by his cherished great-granddaughters Addison and Raelyn, by his dear cousin Judith Neshimka, and by many loving nieces and nephews.
John is predeceased by his brother Dennis Wakula.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, July 5, 2024, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.
