John William Walker

Jonesboro– John William “Bill� Walker, 47, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2010, at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born December 31, 1962 in Dawson, Georgia to the late John and Daisy Walker. He was a graduate of Trumann High School and had attended Arkansas State University and was a past member of the Jonesboro Jaycees. He was a licensed funeral director with Gregg Funeral Home for the past twenty-eight years. John was an avid hunter and also enjoyed fishing and camping with his family. Survivors include his wife, Tara Mullen Walker; a daughter, Ashlyn Drew Walker; a son, John Cody Walker all of the home; two sisters, Nancy Golden (Allen) and Robin Creekmore (Ray) both of Harrisburg; his father and mother-in-law, Lester and Barbara Mullen of Monette; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and a host of friends. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2010, at 1:00 pm at the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro with Rev. Kenneth Doke and Rev. Jerry Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, October 15, 2010, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Gregg Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Benny Walker, Prentice Walker, Lonnie Walker, David Bell, Rick Carmack and Bryan Ruffin and as honorary pallbearers, Kevin Mullen, Keith Mullen, Mark Rolland, Terry Lewis, Brian Clem, Rob Simer, Kris Wolf, Ray Creekmore, Allen Golden and past and present co-workers at Gregg Funeral Home.
