Funeral services for Mr. John Michael Walters, Sr., age 76, will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 12 p.m. in the Hunt Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Pounds-Idlewild Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Friday, September 12 from 5 until 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time.
Mr. Walters, a retired automotive manufacturer, was born in Wyandotte, MI, on July 24, 1949, and passed away at Medina Health and Rehabilitation Center in Medina, TN on September 10, 2025. He was a member of Elevate Church in Milan, TN, loved to travel, and blessed to have six children, fifteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren with one on the way.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Louise Sykes Walters and his sister, Wanda Walters.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Walters; six children; Jennifer (Tommy, Jr.) Fisher, Joanne (Jason Lollar) Shephard, Kim (Richard, Sr.) Kahrl, Mike Walters, Jr; Brian (Heather) King, and Brandon (Jessica) King; three brothers, David (Julita) Walters, Ron Walters, and Rick Walters; one sister, Linda Walters; fourteen grandchildren, Tommy Fisher, III, Jordan Fisher, Dylan (Alexis) Shephard, Austan Shephard, Masan Shephard, Erik (Teala) Brown, Richard Kahrl, Jr. and fiancé, Natasha Goris, Taiann Kahrl and fiancé, Blake Markonni, Joshua Serrano, Ashley Mikayla Walters, Ashley King, Carter King, Jaxxon King, and Alisha King; eight great-grandchildren, Zaydan Shephard, Gabby Sharbnow, Noah Brown, Maya Erikson, Alexander Markonni, Joshua Serrano, Jr., Josiah Serrano, and Lillian to arrive in January of 2026.
“We were lucky to have someone as caring and fun as he was. As we bid farewell, we can find solace. The love, laughs, and compassion he instilled in all of us is a legacy that will continue to live on.”

The doctors, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and CNA’s are angels here on earth.
