John Allen Ward (Jack), a native of Mobile, Alabama, and a resident of Fairhope, Alabama, for a number of years, passed from this life to life eternal on November 4th, 2025. He was educated in the Mobile public school system. He attended the University of Alabama and Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn University) with a B.S. degree in 1956. In his career he worked for Mobile Steel Co., Corps of Engineers where he retired after 30 years of service. He was active in Masonic work for over 50 years, as a member of Mobile 40-J.H. McCormick Lodge, dual member of Greeno Lodge 598, Scottish Rite Bodies and a 33 degree mason. He was an active member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. He also was a Hospice Volunteer with Mercy Medical for many years. He was a military veteran during the Korean war period. He was also a member of the Fairhope roundtable, and Baldwin Senior Travelers.
He was preceded in death by; his wife, Sue Baumhauer Ward; his son, Peter John (Tammera) Ward; his parents, Cecil M. (Helen) Ward, Sr.; his brothers, Cecil M. (Ruth A.) Ward, Jr., Fred N. (Audrey) Ward, Sr.; and his step-mother, Ruth B. Ward;
He is survived by his nieces and nephews.
John Ward's visitation will be held on Friday, November 14th, 2025, from 1:30 P.M. until 2 P.M.; at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 2 P.M. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 15th, 2025, at 2 P.M.; at Trinity Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, Gifts may be given to Trinity Presbyterian Church and donations may be made to Eastern Shore Rehabilitation and Health Center charity.
