John Ward, aged 77, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed away on March 9, 2026. Born on June 29, 1948, in Salyersville, Kentucky, John lived a life marked by service, dedication, and faith. He retired from the United States Army after twenty years of devoted service, embodying the values of honor and commitment throughout his military career.
John was known for his faith-filled spirit, touching the lives of those around him. He cherished his family, and his loving presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Deborah Ward; his two daughters, Mandy Burnett and Kelly Ward; and his cherished grandchildren, Brianna Ward, Erica Burnett, John Edwards, and Jacob Edwards. John also leaves behind his beloved sister, Bonnie Bourne.
John is predeceased by his mother, Ethel Ann Ward; his father, Beecher Ward; his sister, Laura Sexton; and his brother-in-law, Roger Sexton, all of whom he remembered with love and fondness.
As we remember John Ward, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, courage, and an unwavering commitment to family and country. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
