John Anthony Wasko, 72, of Reynoldsburg Ohio, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 5, 1951, to the late John and Mary Wasko (Kubic) and his younger years were spent growing up in Adena, Ohio. He was a graduate of Adena High School and attended The Ohio State University.
John is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Elizabeth Libby Wasko, his children John (Jill) Wasko, Jeremy (Katherine) Wasko, Jessica (Paul) Riesenberg and Jennifer (Mario Russell) Wasko and beloved dogs Tootsie and Lucy. He was a loving Grandfather and very proud of each of his grandchildren: Michael & Matthew; Jacquelyn, Grace & Gabriel; Maria, Addison, Kamryn, Reese & Raelyn; Aaliyah, Anthony, Mariah & Myles. He was a loving brother to his sisters: Marlene (Ted) Hardman, Bernadette Wasko-Gunsorek and Janet (Scott) Myers. Also special to him were his many nieces, nephews and cousins. His large family was one of his greatest blessings.
John was preceded in death by his father John Wasko, mother Mary Wasko (Kubic), brother Baby Wasko and grandson Kaiden Riesenberg.
John was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and an active member of the Knights of Columbus. He was self-employed and owned his own business for many years and later went on to work as a Security Supervisor at the Ohio State University Wexner Center for the Arts. John enjoyed watching the OSU Buckeyes and the Browns and working security for the Buckeyes home games at the Blackwell. He enjoyed working outside in his lawn and gardening, and there was nothing that he couldnt fix. He loved cooking and made the best Polish sausage, beef jerky and smoked meats. He loved family fishing trips to Lake Erie and family vacations. Anyone who knew him knew he was a jokester, and he had his own unique way of making anyone laugh. John was a very hardworking, giving, loyal, honest man who valued his family, friends and his faith.

John was always there when I began school at St. Casimirs and then at Adena High School. I always remember him especially in chemistry class with Mr. Kutchin.

John was a good father. I remember seeing him out in the yard with his boys a few times when I picked up our kids from Libby´s . She was a loving babysitter and I felt safe having my kids with her and John. We are praying for you and your family, Libby. So sorry. Pam/ Mark Gruenwald and family
