John S. Welker III

John Stanley Welker, III, 84, of Belford, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 23, 2026. He was born in Mineola, NY and together with his wife Edith, raised their family in Belford. John graduated from Theil College and was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He proudly served the Delaware National Guard as a Second Lieutenant. John worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for Anheuser-Busch. After 25 years of service he retired. He enjoyed golf, fishing, and playing tennis. You could always find him tinkering around the house, out gardening or working in his yard. He was extremely handy and had skills and willingness to fix anything he could get his hands on. John also had a love for railroad and train spotting. Listening to old time country music and 50's Doo-Woop songs brought him much joy.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Edith Welker, and son, John S. Welker, IV; sisters, Joanne, Natalie, and Lynn.

John was preceded in death by his parents John Stanley and Natalie Welker, Jr., and his brother, Henry Welker.

John was a devoted husband, loving father, good neighbor, and friend to many.Whether you knew him as "Jock", John, "Johnny" or "Big J" you could always count on his infectious personality, desire to always help others first, a plaid shirt, and a very firm handshake.

In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to one of his favorite charities: Tunnel of Towers Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

There will be a private viewing for family members. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date to recount and reflect on all the joy John brought to so many people.
