John Edward White, age 76, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2025 at his home in Southaven, MS.
Funeral services for John will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025 at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. John will be laid to rest Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville, MS.
John was born on September 21, 1948 to the late John Franklin White and Osie Lewis White in Batesville, MS. He honorably served in the Army National Guard and was a faithful member of Longview Heights Baptist Church in Olive Branch, MS. John was a hard worker, he first held a job at Entergy, formerly Mississippi Power and Light for many years, then went to work for Consolidated Freightways, and Conway Freight.
John was an avid outdoorsman, finding great joy in deer hunting and fishing. He also took great pride in his yard and enjoyed planting flowers.
The family he leaves behind includes his wife, Bette Ann Davis White of Southaven, MS; and two sisters, Shirley Gregg of Olive Branch, MS, and Margie Cummings of Florida.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Marcia Sudduth and Dot Taylor; and two brothers, Horace V. “Bruno” White and Robert White.
