John Robert “Bob” Whitmore, 56, of Carbon Hill, passed away at his home on Friday, January 23, 2026. Bob was born on June 16, 1969, in Nelsonville, the son of Dianna (Warren) Miller and the late Harold Whitmore.
Bob loved family and smoking weed. He was also one hell of a cook.
Bob is survived by his mom, Dianna (Fred Hegwood) Miller of Lancaster; daughter, Jessica (John Dennison) Whitmore of Glouster; grandchildren, Roger Whitmore and Ryder Whitmore; sister, Kelly (Lamont Jones) Smith of Carbon Hill; nieces and nephews, Greg (Breanna Schreiner) Smith, Jazmin Smith, and Jared Smith; and great nieces and nephews, Natalie, Audyn, Connor, Mahlik, and Zari.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Harold; stepfather, Bill Miller; grandparents, Robert and Enid Warren; and special friend, Paul Hall.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 30, 2026, at the Souers Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville, with Pastor David Shoemaker officiating. Family and friends may visit from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
