John Phillip Williams

John Phillip Williams, age 76, of Pine Mountain, passed away on November 12, 2025. John was born on April 2, 1949, in Carrollton, Georgia, to the late William Herren Williams and Marilyn Rose Hannah Williams. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and later dedicated many years of service to the State of Georgia as a member of the Georgia State Patrol's Driver's License Division before his retirement.
John was a devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather, and he cherished the friendships he built throughout his life. He especially valued the camaraderie of his cruising buddies, his coworkers from Fantasy in Lights, and his church family at Faith Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Guthrie Williams; daughter, Wendi E. Jackson, her husband David; siblings, Phyllis Reid, her husband Robert, Kathy House, Jane Teague, David Williams, his wife Susan, Debbie Burgess, her husband Brent; grandchildren, Drew Jackson, Haley Banks, Brodie Banks, Christian Jackson, Jon David Jackson, and Charlotte Jackson; close friends James Hensick, Phil McGuire, and Wayne McGuire; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Williams, and his late wife Cathy Williams; his grandson, Ryder William Banks; and his brother-in-law, Howard House.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 2:00–3:00 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter Allen Myhand. Immediately following visitation, a cryptside service will be held at Restlawn Memory Gardens in LaGrange, beginning at 3:00 p.m.
