John Williams Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Audubon Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Slidell on Dec. 5, 2025.
John Robert Williams IV embarked on his final journey on December 1, 2025, in Slidell, Louisiana, at the age of 43. Born on October 21, 1982, in Baytown, Texas, John's larger-than-life presence made him the heart of every room he entered. His laughter was contagious, his spirit indomitable, and his love for life was as vast as the Texas sky under which he was born.
John is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Jamie Jobert Williams; four sons, Mason, Jaxon, Hudson, and Dawson; his father, John "Bob" Williams III (Tami); his brothers, Kiel Williams (Coleen) and Elijah Williams (Haley); and lots of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Fruge; his stepfather, Louis Fruge; and mother-in-law, Edie Jobert, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms and a hearty chuckle at the pearly gates.
John moved to Louisiana from Texas to pursue his career with Florida Marine Transporters, where he also met his wife and where his oldest son, Mason, now works. For 19 years, he served the company, his work family, and customers with dedication and becoming an integral part of his life. John's infectious humor and kindness made him a favorite among colleagues and customers alike, turning professional relationships into lifelong friendships.
John and Jamie resided in Slidell, Louisiana where he formed his true passion in giving back to the community by coaching his boys in youth sports. Coach John was a mentor, a leader, and a steady guiding presence for so many young athletes. He lived life to the fullest and believed that life should be celebrated all the time. Hunting and fishing were some of his cherished pastimes, but it was his love for entertaining that truly set him apart. John could turn a simple gathering into an unforgettable event; his home always open, his table always full, and always a smile on his face.
John was the epitome of friendly, fun, and loving. Though he has taken his final bow, the stories of John's misadventures and the echoes of his loud voice and laughter will continue to warm the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know him. His was a life well-lived and well-loved, a testament to the man who could find humor in every situation and joy in every day. As we bid farewell to John Robert Williams IV, let us do so with a smile, for that is undoubtedly how he would have wanted it. His life was rich in love, laughter, and an unquenchable zest that will forever be the hallmark of his time with us. Rest in peace, John, and may your legacy of laughter continue to inspire us all.
