John Herman Wilson

John Herman Wilson, 64, husband of Carla Creel Wilson, passed away Monday, October 28, 2024, at his home.
Born on May 2, 1960, in Williamsburg County, he was the son of the late Herman Elliott Wilson and the late Lillie Belle Cook Wilson. For more than 33 years, Mr. Wilson devoted his career to Verizon and proudly served in the National Guard. His commitment to his community extended beyond his career. He was a member of the Christian Fortress, the National Wild Turkey Federation and was a lifelong member of the NRA.
Mr. Wilson had a great love for the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting and fishing, an interest that brought him great joy, providing him with countless memorable moments. Above all else, Mr. Wilson loved spending time with his family, especially his grandson.
Survivors include his wife of Andrews; two sons, Christopher Wilson (Heather McClary) and Patrick Wilson all of Andrews; a grandson, Bryce Wilson of Andrews; two sisters, Mary E. Bolen and Margaret W. Nesbitt (Jimmy) all of Andrews; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Eva Marie Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Thursday, October 31, 2024, at the Christian Fortress. Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 PM – 2:30 PM Thursday at the church.
