John Joseph Wolfe, a cherished patriarch, dedicated Navy veteran, and passionate community member, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025, in Plant City, Florida. Born on February 7, 1926, in Cork, Ireland, John's journey of 99 vibrant years began as the son of Samuel and Mary Wolfe. He was a man of deep faith and love, a man of strength and compassion to all who knew him.
John's life was a testament to enduring love, marked by a 74-year marriage to his beloved wife, Norma Wolfe, who preceded him in death in 2022. Together, they raised a loving family, including their children Dennis Wolfe & Paula May, who preceded him in death, Pamela Waska, Brian Wolfe, and John Wolfe with his wife Andrea. John's legacy of love continues through his 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish his memory.
A proud US Navy veteran, John served his country with honor and distinction. His commitment to service extended beyond his military career as he became a pillar of the Plant City community. John was a devout member of St. Clement Catholic Church, where he practiced his faith and offered his time and wisdom to fellow parishioners.
John's passion for softball was undeniable. For 25 years, he was the heart and soul of the senior league in Plant City, not only running the league but also sharing his love for the game as a coach. He played for the Brandon Senior Softball team and inspired many with his athletic ability and sportsmanship.
He was a man of many words, but "loving" and "faith-filled" were the essence of his being. John's life was a living example of these virtues, as he navigated life's challenges with grace and imparted the values of love and faith to all around him.
In every role he played, John Joseph Wolfe left an indelible mark on the hearts of those he touched. As we bid farewell to a man who was so much to so many, we take comfort in the memories and lessons he leaves behind. His spirit will live on in the stories told, the games played, and the prayers said, in the community he loved so dearly.
John's story is one of a life well-lived, a life full of purpose and joy. As we remember him, let us honor his legacy by living our lives with the same love and faith that he exemplified every day. John Joseph Wolfe will be deeply missed, but his light will continue to shine brightly in the lives he touched.
