John Andrew Wright, 85, of Payne Gap, Kentucky, our loving Dad was taken to Heaven on June 4, 2025 to start a new chapter of his life. Awaiting to receive him are his wife, mother, father, brother, sisters and grandson that left the world before him. He will be missed and loved by many.

John was a member of McRoberts Old Regular Baptist Church. He was a long standing member of the Masonic lodge and National Wild Turkey Federation.

John worked various jobs in his life time. A "Jack of all trades." He was principal, a salesman, a construction business owner and mail route postal carrier. He was a board member for Kentucky Farm Bureau. He loved gardening and proudly showed off his flowers and vegetables each season. He and his wife found it very peaceful to sit outside looking out over the tree tops from high up on his mountain home.

John had a generous heart and family was everything to him. He was always there for family and friends and when needed offered a helpful hand. When he laid his head on the pillow at night, he wanted to be at peace. He is at peace now.

John was preceded in death by his parents, James Lewis and Leona (Craft) Wright, his wife of sixty years Dallas;grandson Blake his sisters Jimmie Kaye Adkins, Margaret Adams, Polly Arlene Wright Vanover Bittrich, Jane Bright; and his brothers, Thomas G. Wright and Jesse W. Wright.

His memories will never be forgotten by his son, James B. Wright (Jill) of Covington, Kentucky and daughter, Debra Lee Wright of Knoxville, TN. His grandson, Jamison B. Wright of Covington, Kentucky, sisters, Glenna Theresa Matney of Brandenburg, Kentucky and Shelia Faye Wright of North Myrtle Beach, SC and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and many friends and loved ones.

IN lieu of flowers, donations can be made to McRoberts Old Regular Baptist Church
