John F. Yoeman

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Yeoman, 79, formally of Harlem, Montana on May 23rd, 2025, at Northern Montana Care Center in Havre, Montana.
John was born on October 20th, 1945, in Harlem, Montana to Vivian Nelson Yeoman and Cloyd Yeoman. He was raised with his four brothers in Harlem and graduated from Harlem High School in 1964.
He proudly served as a Vietnam Veteran. In the summer of 1964, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He received technical training as an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist in the Air Training Command in Amarillo Texas. In December of that year, he was sent to Yokota Air Base in Japan as an Aircraft Mechanic. In February 1967 he left Japan for Robins Airforce Base in Georgia. He was honorably discharged in August 1968.
In May of 1969 John started his career with the Montana Department of Transportation as a surveyor. He worked for the Highway Department for 41 years, retiring in 2010.
John was a man of few words, easy-going, enjoyed the simplicity of life and embraced 'Prairie Living' on the hi-line. When John was a young boy, he enjoyed raising chickens and rabbits at home. He also had a passion for basketball. As a boy he built a homemade hoop in the yard at his family home where he would spend countless hours playing ball with his brothers and neighborhood kids. He played varsity basketball throughout his high school years.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers and liked to cook as well. John was quite musical, he played the guitar, bongos and enjoyed singing. He adored spending time with his family and was a devoted Minnesota Vikings fan. He spent most of his life living in Harlem but in 2016, due to health issues, he moved to Havre.
John is survived by his brother Bobby Yeoman (Karen) of Havre, brother Gary Yeoman of Chinook as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Cloyd and Vivian, brother Delbert Foster, brother Kenneth Yeoman and sister-in-law Barbara Yeoman.
There will be a gravesite memorial service at the Harlem Cemetery on June 28th, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
