John Simon Yohanan

John Simon Yohanan passed away on August 4, 2024, at the age of 74, in Modesto, California. Born on September 27, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois, John was a respected attorney specializing in family law until his retirement in 2019.
John was a graduate of Hughson High School and went on to pursue higher education, majoring in psychology at San Jose State University before attending Santa Clara University for law school.
Beyond his professional life, John was an enthusiastic golfer, a lover of music, and had a keen interest in photography and travel, which took him to various parts of the world, capturing moments and landscapes through his lens.
John is survived by his sister, Julie Roberts; brother, Robert O. Yohanan; sisters-in-law, Kay Yohanan and Luba Yohanan; nephews, Jeffrey Roberts, Jon Roberts, Paul Yohanan, Peter Yohanan, and Robert O. Yohanan Jr.; niece, Karal Turbes; and 11 great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Helen Yohanan; brother, Edward Yohanan; and sister, Jean Helbig.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Turlock Funeral Home, followed by a burial at Turlock Memorial Park. John's life and legacy will be remembered by all who knew him as a compassionate, dedicated individual who left a lasting impact on his community and family.
