John W. Young Jr., 77, of Zanesville, died on Friday, August 22, 2025 at his home. He was born July 10, 1948, in Zanesville, a son of the late John W. Young Sr. and Clara Ellen Glasscock. John retired from Kroger after 33 years and worked for Edy’s Ice Cream, where he won the “Oldest Rookie of the Year” award. He collected $2 bills, had a passion for leather work and enjoyed vintage British sports cars. John never met a stranger and loved his family dearly.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela J. (Worstall) Young; four children, Tony (Tammie Kelton) Young, Jenny (Andre) Friederich, Kristyn (Adam) Coen and Alana (Johnathan) Smith; seven grandchildren, Ethan Young, Benjamin Young, Sophie Young, Payton Friederich, Chase Friederich, Lincoln Coen and June Coen; two brothers, Mike Young and Jim (Darla) Young; a brother in law, Kelly (Kathy Coble) Worstall and his fury friend, Oliver.

Friends and family may call from 1:00 P.M. until time of service beginning at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, August 25, 2025 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE.
