John B. Young

John B. Young, 90, of Moundsville, WV; passed away Thursday, October 9th, 2025 at Moundsville Health Care Center.
He was born February 9, 1935; the son of the late Clark and Opal Young.
John was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Moundsville; he was a US Air Force Veteran; Knights of Pythias, Little Prince Lodge #79; American Legion Earl Francis Post #3; and Moundsville Senior Citizens.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Gunto Young; a daughter, Debra Jean Young; and two sisters, Janice Morgan and Geri Yates.
Survivors include son, John (Diane) Young of Glen Dale; daughter, Carla (Rick) Morehead of Glen Dale; four grandchildren, John Lucas "Luke" (Katie) Young, Lynsie (Stephen) Philipps, Jessy Thomas Strait and Heather (Scott) Merritt; one brother, Bernard (Dorothy) Young of Moundsville; 6 great grandchildren, Averey Booth, Emersyn Philipps, Mason Young, Isaac, Leah, and Landon Merritt; several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, October 12th from 4-8pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville with Knights of Pythias service beginning at 7:30pm.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, October 13th at 11am at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Wesley Howsare officiating.
Entombment in Riverview Cemetery Mausoleum where Moundsville Honor Guard will conduct Military Services.
