In Loving Memory of John L. Young Sr.Beloved Father, Tata, Brother, Tio, and Friend
John Young passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 3rd, in his hometown of Tucson, Arizona. John left this world with love in his heart and peace in his soul.
While our hearts ache with his absence, we find comfort in knowing he is now reunited with his beloved daughter Vangie, and in the arms of his Nana Chiquita, who was everything to him. We know she was waiting for him, arms wide open, ready to welcome him home.
John was a devoted father, proud Tata, loving brother, Tio, and loyal friend to many. He leaves behind his four children, who meant the world to him:Tina Soto "Nook" (Bernie), Johnny Young Jr. "Noo" (Priscilla), Jerry Young "Moe" (Laura), and Jesusita Peralta "Vishi Woosh" (Louie).
He is also survived by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his brother Butch, and sisters Lena, Rosemary, Edna, Lillian, and Priscilla. To his many nieces and nephews, he was affectionately known as everyone’s favorite Tio Johnny — always smiling, and always full of love.
We take joy in imagining him dancing in heaven with his sisters, brother Sonny, and his nephew Marito — celebrating life beyond this one. His laughter, stories, and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
Visitation Services will be held on Wednesday, August 20th from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Martinez Funeral Chapels, with a Rosary from 10:00 AM.
A Celebration of Life will follow the services at Casino Ballroom — a gathering filled with the love, music, and joy that John brought into so many lives.
