Darrell Wayne Young, 78, of Anderson, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Community Hospital in Anderson following an extended illness.
He was born on September 13, 1947, in Anderson, Indiana to Harry and Burnha (Dowden) Young. He was a graduate of Pendleton Heights High School. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He was an avid golfer and baseball fan. He loved to go mushroom hunting.
Darrell is survived by two sons, Darrell Young Jr. of Florida and Jeremy (Shannon Milligan) Young of Pendleton; a daughter, Wendy (Bill) Swanson of Lapel; seven grandchildren, Blaise, Nikki, Laken, Logan, Will, Casey and Mason; two great-grandchildren, Khaleesi and Keatyn; a sister, Judi Turpen of Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Faun Elaine (Whitson) Young on December 9, 2020; his parents; and a brother, Frank Young.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory, Lapel Chapel, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051.
