John Zipp Obituary

John was born in Lewistown, PA on June 3, 1942, son of the late John Zipp and Ruth Parker Zipp. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Judith Rizzo Zipp; sister, Wanda Mingoy; nephew, Todd Mingoy; son-in-law, Michael Devine; and in-laws, Anthony and Rose Rizzo.
John is survived by his three daughters: Julie Gottschling (Tim) of Greene Township, Joy Devine of Harborcreek, and Jani Kaveney (Scott) of Greene Township; six grandchildren: Bethany Burlingame, Michaela Devine, Alayna Devine, Conner Kaveney, Tyler Gottschling, and Katelynn Gottschling; one great-grandchild, Theo Devine; and many nieces and nephews.
John was a 1960 Harbor Creek High School graduate. He was a sign painter at Pomo Signs and Al's Sign Service for many years before starting his own business, John Zipp Signs. Examples of his unique and extraordinary talent can be found throughout Erie County. John enjoyed meeting up with his buddies every morning for breakfast and his weekly Wednesday dinners with friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral & Cremation Services Harborcreek, 5151 Buffalo Rd. (at Hannon Rd.) on Saturday, January 18th, from 11 AM until 2 PM. John will then be laid to rest at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
